When in-home support may help
This service may suit a participant who wants more consistency with everyday routines, meal preparation, household organisation or agreed tasks at home. We begin by discussing what has not worked previously, including rushed support, unclear tasks, frequent worker changes or communication that did not respect the participant’s preferences.
Support for blind or low-vision participants
Within the agreed support plan and worker competence, assistance may include maintaining consistent placement of household items, locating agreed items, organising accessible routines and accompanying the participant in the community. Support workers follow the participant’s preferred methods and do not replace qualified orientation and mobility, allied-health or clinical professionals.

Practical assistance in the place you call home
In-home support should feel respectful, predictable and connected to your independence. We agree on tasks and routines before service begins and take time to understand how you prefer people to work within your home.
Support may be discussed for
- Establishing and following daily routines.
- Preparing simple meals and organising household tasks.
- Building skills for greater independence at home.
- Assistance connected to appointments or community activities.
- Implementing agreed communication and safety approaches.
Your home, your preferences
You can discuss access arrangements, household customs, privacy, preferred products, cultural considerations, pets and communication needs. The final scope depends on your NDIS plan, assessed needs and service agreement.
Support that respects the whole person
Access4All welcomes participants of all ages, cultures, faiths, identities and backgrounds. We support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander participants and acknowledge the importance of culture, family, Country and community. We also welcome people from migrant and refugee communities, including Iranian and Afghan participants. Tell us about language, cultural, gender, family or communication preferences that will help support feel safe and respectful.
Before support begins
We listen to what matters to you, confirm the service is appropriate, discuss availability and agree on responsibilities, boundaries, communication and costs. You remain involved in decisions and can provide feedback at any time.

Frequently asked questions
What can in-home support include?
It may include agreed assistance with daily routines and household activities that support safety, comfort and independence, subject to your plan and service agreement.
Will support respect my household routines?
Yes. Before starting, we discuss tasks, timing, communication, boundaries and how you prefer support to be delivered in your home.
Can the schedule be changed?
Contact us as early as possible. Changes depend on the service agreement and staff availability, and we will explain the available options.
Daily living support and NDIS household tasks
Daily living support can involve agreed assistance with routines that a participant wants to complete more safely, consistently or independently at home. Depending on the participant’s goals, funded support and service agreement, this may involve prompting, meal preparation, household organisation, planning errands or practising everyday skills.
How household-task support differs from cleaning
Regular cleaning focuses on an agreed domestic task list. Support-worker assistance may instead focus on participation and skill building, such as planning a meal or completing a household routine with the participant. We clarify the worker role, expected outcome, rate and task boundaries before service begins.
What this page does not promise
In-home support is not presented as supported independent living accommodation, clinical nursing, emergency response, home modification or specialist behaviour support. Tell us the exact tasks and required capabilities so we can responsibly check whether the request is within scope and current capacity.
